South America - New Balls, Please!

In the first division match between Deportes Temuco and Audax Italiano in July 2002, Chilean first-division referee Francisco Camaano made a name for himself by taking the law into his own hands! 

In the heat of an argument in the last minute of the match, Audax Italiano's Alejandro Carrasco made the mistake of stamping on the referee's foot. 

Instead of the traditional showing of the red card as a punishment, referee Camaano instead kneed the offending player in the testicles! 

"It was a reflex. It was self-defence." claimed Camaano before announcing his retirement from the game!
