Robert Duvall - Brazilian National Team
|
An unlikely football fan, Duvall's love of the game is so strong that he has just completed making a film in Scotland about a fictional Scottish team starring players such as striking legend Ally McCoist (Rangers, Kilmarnock, Scotland) and featuring cameo appearances from Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson! In the film, "The Cup" Duvall himself plays the Scottish coach of "Inverclyde Athletic" as they battle against the odds to reach the Scottish Cup Final.
"When I was young, it was American football I played and I wasn't really interested in soccer," Duvall said. "But an injury stopped me doing serious sports anyway. Now I enjoy watching soccer a lot. My girlfriend is Argentinean and I recall seeing Paraguay goalkeeper Jose Luis Chilavert and thinking he could be a great kicker for the Washington Redskins!"
Duvall caught the football bug in the 1970s, mesmerised by the amazing Brazil sides featuring legends such as Pele, Tostao and Rivelino. However, his all-time favourite player is George Best.
