Hugh Grant Fulham FC (England)
|
Hugh Grant, star of box-office successes including "Four Weddings and a Funeral" and "Notting Hill" is well-known for his love of London club Fulham FC.
He became a supporter during his childhood, when he lived close to Craven Cottage, the home of Fulham FC. Grant's involvement with his club even included a short spell working as an assistant groundsman during the university vacation period!
Grant's success as an actor, it appears, has not been matched on the football pitch. Although he's still a keen player, he admitted, "I like to describe myself as an attacking wing-back, capable of unlocking defences with surging runs or a well-placed pass. My team-mates just call me "donkey"."
He is still a committed follower of the team and manages to watch a few games at Craven Cottage every season in between his busy filming schedule. There's no doubt he'll be delighted by the success of Fulham's 2000/2001 season under new French manager, Jean-Claude Tigana.
