Everton FC announced recently (June 2004) that it will discontinue its burial service for supporters. 

With 800 people laid to rest beneath the Goodison Park pitch (buried in urns beneath the turf!) the club has simply run out of space for new internments!

A spokesman for Everton stated, "We would love to go on forever, but logistically we cannot. We have run out of space." 

Instead the Club is hoping that nearby church St. Lukes, which backs onto the ground can accomodate the ashes of loyal supporters.
